Arriving by Air:The Atlanta Embassy Suites Perimeter is located 25 miles north of the Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport. Transportation to the hotel is either by taxi (approximately $80) or by taking a MARTA train from the airport (approximately $3). The most efficient way to get to the hotel is by taxi. It is about a half hour trip during non rush-hour times. A car rental is unnecessary as the hotel courtesy van will take attendees anywhere within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. If you want more flexibility, do rent a car. If you decide to take MARTA from the Airport to the hotel upon your arrival at ATL, the MARTA train terminal is located inside the airport just before you exit baggage claim. If you arrive on Saturday, and wish to take the MARTA train, take the North Springs train (not Doraville) to the Sandy Springs station. If you arrive on Sunday, sometimes only the Doraville train leaves the airport. If that is the case, take that train and get off at the Lindbergh Station and wait for the North Springs train there. It is an easy transfer. Stay on same platform after you exit the train and wait for the North Springs train that will take you to the Sandy Springs station. Once at the Sandy Springs station a hotel shuttle can pick you up. It is about a quarter mile walk downhill to the hotel if you choose to walk. The trip on MARTA takes about 45 minutes. The most time efficient way to return to the airport at the end of the workshop(s) is to take the hotel shuttle to the Sandy Springs MARTA station a quarter mile away and take the train to the airport. It takes about 45 minutes. Otherwise in could take well over an hour by taxi because of the freeway gridlock at that time of day. |
